Welcome Message

Dear Colleagues,

The 15th Nordic Experience Meeting (ERFA 2020) “Who Benefits from ECT? Contemporary Use and Practice of ECT”, organized by Nordic Association for Convulsive Therapy (NACT), will take place on 27-29 May 2020 in Snekkersten, Denmark. The scientific part and related activities will be held in Hotel Comwell Borupgaard. It is located in central North Zealand close to beach, forest and Helsingør. The hotel is established in modern manor houses and has a beautiful view over scenic surroundings. Snekkersten is easily accessible by public transport, the direct train from Kastrup Airport departs in every 20 minutes and the nice comfortable journey with plenty of scenic views on his way lasts for 40 minutes.

NACT has been organizing ECT-related conferences since 2001 and from 2016 the conferences have been held annually. Each conference has been focused on different aspects of ECT-related research and up-to-date clinical experience. This time the conference is focused on clinical indications of ECT, perhaps the most important topic to all clinicians. Much attention is devoted to new, exciting and not-so-common indications of ECT, its use in neurological disorders and in special populations. Several key specialists from all over the world will present their research and share their clinical experience. Among those Charles Kellner and Georgios Petrides from USA, Chittaranjan Andrade from India, Harm-Pieter Spaans from Belgium Poul Videbech, Martin B Jörgensen and Tom Bolwig from Denmark, Anne-Liis von Knorring from Sweden and Lauri Hurri from Finland.

In addition to scientific lectures NACT will carry on the tradition of integrating different specialists together by reserving time for discussions before, after and between lectures as well as holding scientific dinner and other activities.

We feel confident that the ERFA 2020 will serve as a place of learning where we can all share the latest experiences, approaches, and research, continuing with all the best traditions of the practice of ECT and representing for all participants a treasured personal and professional experience.

We look forward to welcoming you to Denmark!

On behalf of NACT board,

Margus Lõokene

Secretary of NACT
